Filming blog: Cancelled filming
Hello Cambridge! Today, we were going to start on filming our final project. The plan was to go to a Barnes and Noble, probably record there all day, and hope that we would be able to have the movie close to finished. However, there were a few problems that arose with this plan. The first was that I had been a bit behind on homework the night before and had to stay up late to get work done. This meant that I was very tired and I was not going to be very helpful during the filming process. This problem was amplified by the second, more pressing issue, which is that we hadn't done a storyboard and therefore did not have a clear picture of what we were going to do that day. This meant that our entire project would be improvised, and we felt that the quality of the project would suffer too much if we didn't know what we were doing. I was also nervous about being able to get to the Barnes and Nobles. I live far away from anyone else in the group, so we decided to record at a Barnes and Nobles that was 30 minutes away from me. The only problem was that my parents would be annoyed at how much driving they would have to do, as thy would have to make to round trips for a total of 2 hours of driving.
Because of the large amount of problems we were having, we decided it would be best to reschedule the filming. There were a couple of other problems with this, however. We were hoping to have at least two days to either film or edit, and I was only free for two days the entire month because of other clubs. This meant that we would only have one day to film and edit unless something drastic changed. Luckily, this is exactly what happened! I realized that I did not physically have the time to do both clubs every single day(including Saturdays) and keep up with my school work. So, I quit the cub, meaning that I would be able to do any day we needed to film or edit. We also were able to get our storyboard done so we have a clear idea of how the filming should go for next time. Now that we're ready, I can't wait to start filming soon!
