CCR Blog: Music Video Edition

Our music video follows the conventions of a rock music video by having cross cutting of unrelated and strange clips. Many of the 90s rock music videos were nonsensical clips thrown together of the band and their fans acting stupid. They also used fisheye lenses to film the funnier portions and had lots of looking at the camera, particularly the Red Hot Chili Peppers music videos. We also used a fisheye lens for many clips and cut away to us inspecting the fisheye lens, jumping at the camera, and Samantha playing the guitar in a weird way. Samantha playing the guitar like this was actually a perfect recreation of a clip from Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Can’t Stop” music video. Production Blog: Finishing the Video

      Hello Cambridge people! We gave ourselves a few days of rest before finishing the video. We had to call on Snap Chat instead of Facetime because I do not have an I-Phone and FaceTime doesn't work on my phone. When I had gone, they did a little bit of editing, but not much. We decided to add in cross cutting between all of the shots where we change location, to imply that them moving to those places was off camera. The one insert before this also shows her daydreaming of playing with the band. We decided to put most of the clips of Samantha being happier after she and the love interest get back together, to show her emotional progression. We also put some of the clips in slow motion, which looked very cool, particularly when Samantha and Amelie jump towards the camera. I also liked the part where we all look at the fisheye lens weirdly, because it looks very silly while still showing how happy Samantha is to be back with her lover.
