Group Blog 2: Group Harder

Hello Cambridge people! For my final task, I will be working with Samantha Burton, Lilly Gonzalez, and Amelie De Kegel. I chose this group because we already sit together in class, so I know we won't have any issues of infighting. Samantha and Lilly were also both in my group for Component 3 of Global Perspectives, so I know that we can work well together to make a good final product. Additionally, I know that all of them are smart and will not procrastinate or throw all of the work on me. We also all worked together on our music video, which turned out very good, so I am confident that we can make another great project here. Also, Samantha showed me her commercial, so I know that she is good at editing, which is something that I struggle with. In fact, all of them are much better at editing than me, so I know that the movie will look good. A problem that may arise here is me not getting to do any of the editing and therefore not improving at editing. This possibility could also lead to problems within the group, with my groupmates getting mad at me for not contributing enough. So, in order to stop this, I will try my best to contribute as much as possible for other parts of the project.

We all have lots of ideas for this task, which is in stark contrast to the music video, where we barely came up with an idea in time. A potential problem that could come from this is disputes over which idea to do, but I am confident that we will be able to choose the best, most feasible project in the end. A problem with many of my personal ideas is that we would need lots of pops that are definitely out of our price range. For example, I had an idea to do a parody of Ghost in a Shell, or cyberpunk movies in general, but we would have to have lots of props and shots of a large, cyberpunk city. This is practically impossible without lots of money. Even real movies with a large budget in Hollywood struggle to make CGI cities. The part of the movie I am most looking forward to is the script writing, because I know that most of us are very good writers. This could create some very interesting scripts with well written, natural-feeling dialogue, which I like in movies. I am looking forwards to seeing what we create!
