Hello Cambridge! We haven't started recording yet, but we've still got work to do. First of all, I need to be able to believably play the song in the video, or at the very least the chorus. So, over the past week, I've been trying to learn the song through tabs, which show the fret that you need to play on each string. This song is actually tuned down a little bit from the normal, which is the first song I've ever learned with alternate tuning. A big drawback of using tabs to learn a song is that it does not tell you when to play different parts, so I don't really know for certain I'm playing at the right times for the verses. However, I can play the chorus to perfection, along with the bridge, which will likely be the only part of the song that we will be playing. I also started using a strap to see how I look for the music video, which is only the second time I've worn a strap. I know the song well enough that I can move around while playing it, which is good. I can also sing the song while playing, which is probably not necessary, but is still interesting to me. I'm also not completely sure that I will be using the bass I have at home, because it might not match the guitar we are using. Second, Samantha had to cancel recording on the 28th of October. She has to go to a Halloween part for her Grandpa. We started to reschedule to November 4th, but we felt that this would not give us enough time to edit, because the video is due only a few days after this. Also, homecoming was that day, so Amelie wouldn't be able to make it. A big problem with scheduling would be that Amelie and Lily can't record on Sundays because they have Church, which takes away a full day of the weekend that we could record. I suggested that if we couldn't find a new Saturday to record, then we could try to record some days after school. However, Lily suggested that we could do it on the 21st. The only problem would be that Lilly would need to get a ride because her parents were not home. However, we decided that this was the best day to record without having to panic. I also have bass lessons on Saturdays, so thankfully we rescheduled before I canceled them for October 28th. Now that the schedule is back on track, we can ho
pefully start recording the music video soon!
