Hello Cambridge! We haven't started recording yet, but we've still got work to do. First of all, I need to be able to believably play the song in the video, or at the very least the chorus. So, over the past week, I've been trying to learn the song through tabs, which show the fret that you need to play on each string. This song is actually tuned down a little bit from the normal, which is the first song I've ever learned with alternate tuning. A big drawback of using tabs to learn a song is that it does not tell you when to play different parts, so I don't really know for certain I'm playing at the right times for the verses. However, I can play the chorus to perfection, along with the bridge, which will likely be the only part of the song that we will be playing. I also started using a strap to see how I look for the music video, which is only the second time I've worn a strap. I know the song well enough that I can move around while playing it, whic...
Welcome back, Cambridge, to the final blog before you can see the actual project. The only thing we have left is to edit the changes suggested by our peer, and then we will have a finished movie. The first thing we had to do was to make the text more visible. This was more difficult than expected because the backgrounds that the credits were on changed a lot. This meant that we couldn't simply make it one color because basically any color we chose to stick out in one scene would blend in at another scene. We also wanted to make sure the credits were uniform to appear more professional, and as to not shock the viewer with different text colors. Its also a bad idea to change something like that without a narrative reason, and we didn't have any reason to change the colors other than needing the text to stand out. We decided to have the text that appears with a paper background be black with a black outline, and the rest of the text to be white with a red background. I...
Welcome back Cambridge peoples! Today, I almost finished my project! I found out that I completely misunderstood how long the video was supposed to be. I thought that it needed to be a least 2 minutes, but in reality it should only be 30 seconds to a minute, which is fortunate, because I was struggling with making it long enough. Because of this, I am now unsure whether or not I will be putting the video I wanted to put in, just because of how long it is and how much trouble it has given me. Today, I decided to remove two of the pictures- the one of me on the beach and the on of me carving pumpkins. This is because both of them were not very good pictures of me, and they didn't really show my personality. I also decided to add two pictures of my cats, because they are such a big part of my life. Finally, I added a picture of my bass, because I play it almost every day and absolutely love it. Then, I tried to add in the background music. Ho...
